It hurts with every heartbeat

When I was a teenager with my head filled of dreams I was searching for every possible outlet for all my ideas and thoughts. I dropped out of school, used my inherited money and travelled Europe and scared the hell out of my mother and all that usual stuff.
At the same time Robin Carlsson, one year my junior started her career as 'Robyn'. I guess she never realised exactly how difficult it is to become an international artist as she just dropped out of school and just became an over night smash in the US with her pre-Britney tracks about respect and love when everyone else were stuck in their basements with crappy demos.
I remember that when I was 16 everyone seemed to hate her. She got a big sponsor deal with Adidas and when she played clubs where you had to be 18 to get in people threw bottles at her. It's not easy to be an international artist in Sweden, the land of plenty.
I never cared really as I was deep inside my own mind and played Bjork, Billie Holiday and had a depression because it was fashionable. Posh Trash I guess you can call it.
When Robyn released 'Be Mine' last year I was in shock.
One of the best singles of last year came from Sweden from that ol' teeny bopper with trainers and silver jackets.
When a good friend of mine gave me the album it instantly became on of my most played albums on my ipod.
She seemed set for global stardom once more.
But then something happened.
'Who's that girl' the best song of the album, got released without a video to back it up. The remixes were crap.
Now 18 months after the release of her last album she has a crack at the international market once more. But the difference is that she seems to have scrapped all those great songs off the album and is now releasing an EP with covers and new songs that are not so great. At the same time she's leaked a stunning new song 'With Every Heartbeat' that does not seem to be on the EP!
And the artwork is a picture of her where you can't even see her face!
And her website is down!
The marketing whore inside of me shivers and really want to call Robyn and ask what her strategy is. 'Cause we wanna know!
'With Every Heartbeat' could be one of the best singles to close this turbulent year and we are sure that it'll be one of the most played on the ipod in no-time.
But please, please, please! Hire someone to do your marketing strategy and release singles that people want to listen to! We love you! But we hate the way you just let something so right become so wrong.
And it's not just Le Gangster who thinks this so you know. We've asked around and yeah it seems to be the general idea.
Lotsa Lurve!
Gangster

It reminds me of a scene in "American Beauty" when the mother is waiting for her daughter by the car in the morning. When Jane (the daughter) comes out of the house Catherine (the mother) says "Honey, are you trying to look unattractive?".
This scene always made me feel sick but Robyn has given me a renewed understanding for Catherine. Robyn, are you trying to look unattractive!?
