Marketing Whore

I was recently called 'marketing whore' by a lovely person when we were discussing some business. Before you get too upset on my behalf I might add that she referred to herself as a mail order Asian bride in the same sentence, haha. Anyways since I work with branding in the media field, I do like when people advertise their brands in cool ways. So when I discovered that Coca Cola and Apple were working together it was almost uncanny. I mean, their target is basically - me.
I'm a Mac and Coke person I guess.
Basically Coca-Cola is giving away 70 million iTunes tracks in the U.K. as part of a campaign and people who buy promotional packs of Coke and Diet Coke in the U.K. will get a special code that can be redeemed for a free song from iTunes.
How cool is that?
When I bought my afternoon pick me up I got a song for free.
Could this be the future of music and advertising?
Or is this the end of the world as we know it?
