Premiere: Depeche Mode - Where's the Revolution

Depeche Mode managed to time the release of Where's the Revolution with some serious political changes with us feeling like we're staring into the abyss in a catastrophic climate. DM channels this into a synth heavy track with a chant like chorus and dark undercurrents. There's nothing to ease the mind just as what's on the news 24/7 at the moment; and maybe forever? DM album Spirit is out on March 17th and the Global Spirit Tour follows later this summer. Listen below. Thoughts?

Premiere: Blondie - Fun

In a world of uncertainty it's amazing to see Blondie keep on doing their thing. Fun in collaboration with Dave Sitek is the lead single to new album Pollinator (out May 5th) which will have collaborations with Sia, Blood Orange, Charli XCX and Laurie Anderson to name but a few on it. WOW! This first taste whoever sounds classic Blondie with nods to both new wave and disco just like in their 70's nights at Studio 54. Debbie is 71 y.o now and we just hope we get to have this much fun if/when we reach her age. WERK IT!

Premiere: Goldfrapp - Anymore

Goldfrapp just premiered Anymore - lead single to upcoming album Silver Eye out March 31st! And OMG, this single is amazing and continues where 2003 masterpiece album Black Cherry left us. The intro with its dirty synth is heaven and really sets the tone - not to mention how stunning Alison's vocals sound. They're too cool school, clipped and divine. Almost 3 minutes in they shift into a harder beat and the vocal gets twisted into a dark fantasy of gleaming, pounding mantra that suddenly just ends. It's part glossy cabaret, part Berlin club with people having it off in the corners and stiff drinks being poured around. Perfect in the canon of Goldfrapp! Welcome back!

Video Premiere: BANKS - Trainwreck

Visuals from BANKS are always dark and moody treats and the ones to Trainwreck are beyond! He The Altar album is such a emotive body of work and it deserves stunning visual treatments to say the least. Trainwreck the video paits BANKS the artist with what her label might want from her as a popstar. It's an intriguing world to step into and we love how she's so consistent with her work even though she could easily become a 'airplay hit artist' if she wanted to, we're sure. The ending is too damn good! Thoughts?

Premiere: CocoRosie Feat. ANOHNI - Smoke 'em Out

CocoRosie and ANOHNI all get together against Donald Trump in brand new track Smoke 'em Out. Read their statement below.

Today we share a new song to inspire the weary-disappointed hearts of so many crest-fallen citizens. We just started working on a new album, but “Smoke ‘em Out” begged to be turned loose on the world now, as a means of participation during these turbulent yet invigorating times. Joined on guest vocals by our fellow Future Feminist ANOHNI, “Smoke ‘em Out” welcomes the new character who will be occupying the White House with a mob of women and children armed with forks and knives. In the wake of this unnatural disaster, we feel a call to rise, shout, and burn the house down. The future is female.
peace, Bianca & Sierra Casady

The track itself is a thumping one with a steely, chilly beat, razor sharp rap and a roaring drum machine and ANOHNI's distinct vocals kicking in mid song. Love! The opposition against Trump is real and they (we) bring great music, too. Listen below! Pic via Pitchfork.
