Premiere: Tracey Thorn - Queen

What a rush! Tracey Thorn begins the new year with launching a brand new album era! Bar her xmas album in '12 and soundtrack work to The Falling in '15 it's been 8 years since her fantastic Love and its Opposite album. ...and next year it'll be 20 years since her last Everything But The Girl album, almost unfathomable to think about. Queen is the first taster of Tracey's upcoming album Record, and it impacted us immediately on the very first listen. Tracey's wistful and gorgeous tone is wonderful against the 80's synth scene produced by her longtime collaborator Ewan Pearson. Stella and Jenny from L.A indie quartet Warpaint add a fantastic rhythm section on drum and bass. Equally, the lyrics are gorgeous and tinged with wistfulness, just how we like our Thorns, haha. The Carol Morley-directed video is a drive through London at night. We just love how vibrant Tracey's performance is! Her energy is really catching and we love it. The new album is out on March 2nd and will feature collaborations with Shura and Corinne Bailey Rae. We cannot wait!
